“CAN YOU FIX THIS?”

Itʼs a question I get all day, everyday. But it bothers me when Iʼm asked to repair another
“carpet repairmanʼs” first effort at a fix. Did you call the right company? Did they claim they were experts?
Iʼm Kal Gutman. I have 42 years of experience as a carpet repair artisan. Itʼs all I do.
I started in 1977 as an apprentice to a European craftsman, who taught me to work on
everything from Axminster wool to Crossley Karastan to Berber, and synthetics.
I do your work — no subcontractors, no second rate carpet installers or even carpet cleaners who took a two day class on
carpet repair and re-installation, no sidelines or part-time jobbers here!

One call to me and you have a skilled craftsman who plies his trade
with the professionalism you expect, but rarely see.
Carpet repair is a science and an art. I combine the technical know-how with the
experience and feel to protect the many thousands of dollars you have invested in this
critical element of your decor.
Face it. If you needed a pianist for your special event, would you hire one who trained
for years under a master with a big city orchestra, or a guy who watched some Internet
videos over a few weekends? Sure, both may read music. Both may understand how a
piano functions. But who will achieve the best result — the art?
Moreover, your carpet is not a special event; you see it everyday. Why let anyone other
than an artisan repair it?

Kal (that’s me!) has been a wizard of carpet repair when he went to the largest company in town that contracted to Minto and Campeau for their flooring needs and guess who was the Carpet Repair Services Specialist for the carpet installation crews that provide the installing services for these builders?

You would be correct in choosing me! Now in the present tense I will give you a brief history of my work ethic towards quality control in the flooring industry.

I started an apprenticeship in 1977 with a fellow who was a Hungarian immigrant who specialized in custom carpet work on Axminster wool and also the high quality carpets of Crossley Karastan carpets where every detail was very important with expensive broadloom that would show every deficiency if installed poorly.

There is a big difference in the look and feel of a quality installation and it is very hard to find that quality installer today.

I don’t install anymore because I have been in the industry for 37 years, but if you need a recommendation for a quality installer, I maybe able to help you find one.

Just because a carpet store offers carpet installations, does not mean that they have the best installers. Please do your own due diligence in this regard because I have seen all the nightmares in my 42 plus years as a carpet repair services solutions provider.
